According to the requirements of the Labor Safety Law of Georgia, the person responsible for labor safety must have relevant professional experience and qualifications (skills and technical habits, which are confirmed by a certificate of completion of an accredited program).

According to the order of the Minister of Labor, Health and Social Protection No. 01-25/N of October 31, 2018, the scope of the accredited program of the labor safety specialist, the manner and conditions of its implementation were approved.

The effect of this rule applies to all persons who carry out or want to carry out in the future the authority of a labor safety specialist, whether it is for heavy, harmful and dangerous jobs with increased risk or for objects with light and medium risk.

A labor safety specialist is a person appointed/invited by the employer with appropriate qualifications, who ensures the implementation and management of labor safety measures in order to prevent violations of labor safety norms; For the purposes of this rule, a person's qualification is confirmed by a document issued within the framework of the programs defined by this rule, as well as by a certificate confirming completion of an accredited program of a labor safety specialist. ​

In accordance with the order of the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Protection, the training certificate of the labor safety specialist issued by the training organization is lifelong, and the specialist does not need to repeat the course. After completing the training course, the certificate exam is taken at an accredited certification center and the certificate is valid for a period of 3 years.
